BeeMask lets you talk over the phone with strangers/friends you meet over the Internet, without giving away your phone number, for free. BeeMask aims to make the Internet a better and safer place. It is a great way to interact with new friends without giving up on your privacy.

How BeeMask works is, that it lets you and you contact chose a BeeWord. Then, both of you need to visit BeeMask and enter the BeeWord and connect. And voila! you both will be connected through your phone numbers, but none of you would know the other person’s phone number, so if the talk doesn’t go well, there’s no chance of the other person calling you back and annoying you.

According to Tomer Treves, the CEO and Co-Founder of BeeMask:

BeeMask enhances communications bridging the gap between the online world and the phone, and for the first time – securing the privacy of both sides equally. Oh, and again – it’s free.

Right now, the beta is restricted to USA and Israel only. But I believe service will be a huge hit once it opens up to other regions as well. I will surely update when BeeTalk opens up for India.

Update:
They appear to have an advertising-based business model. Will that be enough to keep this site free or will they have to start charging in the future? Will people see the value added or will they simply exchange Skype usernames or other voice clients to do their talking?
