I don’t consider an antivirus as an antivirus if it doesn’t have realtime protection. For ex, when you open a web page containing a malware, it might execute a lot of programs in background which we may not be able to see. Try to download some movies from http://www.techsatish.net and you will know how dangerous it is. This has lot of good indian movies, but bloated with some malwares. I use Avast Free and Superantispyware Pro in order to prevent the malwares.
