After almost 3 months, Technically Personal gets a makeover! From dark, grungy and colorful looks, it has turned into a clean, simple and minimalistic looks. I was looking for something more professional and clean, without any jazzy features and I guess I have been able to achieve that through this theme.
Monetizing the website was always on my mind. It is not because I am in need of money, but it does add fuel to the passion of blogging. Through this design, I am aiming to achieve that. In case if anyone of you is looking to change the design of your websites, I will come up with a mini post explaining some important steps I followed (or missed) when changing my design today. Watch out for that post very soon!
Do let me know how you like
(or dislike
) the new looks of Technically Personal!

Hi Raju,
Finally you fixed the problem with an alternative. Its the decision of wise to make alterations when solutions are tough to find.
This solves the problem to a greater extent as there are no background images necessary for this theme.
This theme looked good on my Internet Explorer… But there is some problem with sidebar in IE (ver.6, the default one available with xp sp2) where sidebars go below post and comments. But this one is not your problem, its the problem with IE
, the badddeeessst and worrrstest browser I have seen.
One suggestion – give an alt text to comment submit button as the image again becomes a mystery.
Thanks again Pavan! IE6 never fails to give nightmares to web-masters
Need to find a workaround for that stupid browser
Raju one more suggestion Home,about and all other should be below header correct it.
venkats last blog post..Backup,Restore Your Drivers With DriverBackup
Hi Raju – I like it! I prefer dark text on a light background because it’s easier to read. And it does look a lot more professional.
I think we should stop finding fixes for IE6 and force people to stop using it
Oh – it also loads SO much faster
Dies it really load faster than before? I mean I was more worried on this aspect of the design itself. I spent an hour or so to replace php calls with static data plus few more tweaks. And you are right about IE! i had seen a script which displays an alert to the user asking him to switch over to Firefox or any other browser & kills the IE browser session
Everyone should start using that script!!
It really does load a lot faster
Now it’s almost instant.
I think that script is an awesome idea.
i did not find any loading time difference but still i concur that dark text on light background is sooo much easy to read. keep on posting!
hey mate, new look eh? it’s very pro-looking. clean and neat. i like it in a generic way but, just can’t help but love the bg texture of the old one, aw ^_^
this is a nice design and moreover its looks good…
@Stratos,
I had missed couple of tracking scripts when Kim was checking. I guess those scripts are the culprits
@techniqueal
Thanks!
@Pushpinder,
Thanks buddy!
Looks good in Chrome, Raju. Nice clean design. I definitely prefer dark text on light background.
I was using this theme before my current one
Did some heavy modifications on it though (and I took out that “Related Content/Post” before the Google AdSense coz I think it’s against the TOS
This look is really cool.. I have mentioned to you earlier also to use simple background like this.. its real pleasure to watch..
