hey i got caught with this worm, the symptoms i received is when i apply show hidden files and folder from folder option menu it wont show my hidden folder and automatically the radio button is selected to the do not show hidden files and folder.
i downloaded the bitdefender tool from http://techpp.com/2009/01/22/how-to-fix-downadup-worm/ but it didn’t helped my PC. help me

Thanks for asking this question Kim. The thing is, there is NO definite symptoms to know that the PC is infected with the worm. I will update the post on what are all the possible symptoms, but what it is capable of is really scary.

Wouldn’t you have noticed some symptoms or can it run behind the scenes without you realizing it? Can people get rid of it by going to a restore point from before the time they were infected?
