Shahrukh Khan is on Twitter! But Is it SRK really?

The buzz in twitter-o-sphere is that Shahrukh Khan is the latest Indian celebrity to join Twitter! Well, I can’t vouch for the authenticity of this news, but you can check out SRK’s profile here and see for yourself if it is SRK himself tweeting out there. Below is the snapshot of this twitter profile.

Is it Shahrukh Khan himself on twitter?

Over the last couple of years we have seen that many Bollywood biggies and even Indian Politicians have shown their affinity towards Internet and blogging, and many of them do have genuine profiles on social networking sites like Orkut, facebook etc. So, this can actually be the King khan himself who is tweeting out there. We have seen this man’s innovative mind before – buying a cricket team in IPL and using it to the best of his ability to market his films/himself. So this can just be his another innovative way to reach out the geeks on the twitter world!

On the negative side, this can be yet another fake profile by some of his fan(s). But looking at the tweets posted, it does seem genuine but I can’t confirm until I see some real proof from the tweets to say “Yeah, It IS Mr. SRK!!”

Why I feel it is a fake profile?

  • The twitter background used is very unprofessional, it’s a collection of posters from his previous movies, errr???
  • The tweets made look like picked up from some “Google News”! Eg: “Shelved Duhla Mil Gaya & MNIK not kind to the shoulder. Surgery imminent”. Mashed up a bit, but still has the news/gossip flavor.
  • Under the Web column, it reads “http://www.redchillies.com/home/index.asp”. LOL!! index.asp? This guy must have copy pasted from the browser. SRK is good enough to own a PR to set up his twitter profile!
  • No. of people he is following is a BIG ZERO. Come on! SRK is not so rude not to follow “anyone”!!
  • His Bio on twitter profile reads like this – “Bio: Welcome!”.  No comments!!

    Well everyone of your point has a logical explanation

    1. SRK in all his work has always had a “filmy” outlook to his ventures (OSO being the best example).

    2. What else would he talk about in 4 tweets that he has had, Kashmir?

    3. Read his first tweet for explanation to this & last point. I think he is already looking for someone to manage his Twitter a/c. FOLLOWs would follow soon, I think an auto DM/follow app coming up soon.

    May be you still are correct, but I just have right reasons to believe that the proof is insufficient.

      1. Its another way to look at it, no counter point from my side :) But yeah, this background was not up till few hours back today. Is it like SRK set up his profile without even planning / consulting his PR?
      2. What I meant was, they look more like news rather than tweets. Till now tweets are not personal(revealing) enough!
      3. Well, may be, hope he gets someone to manage this (assuming its really him as @DNA confirmed)

    Coz you see Indian Celebs are Money minded (Exceptions).. everyone starts a blog with a purpose..(Just like AB gets 119 crores paid to blog from Reliance network) SRK doesn’t have a blog yet and he will network with ppl just to pass his time :P ? Highly doubt that..

    Moreover their are tons of companies in the queue trying to brand their Product with SRK but he will ignore all of ‘em and stick with a Non Indian network called “Twitter” ?

    I hate to see this if it is for real … Better he should have helped indian startups like K.. (I dont remember it’s name.. kwipy? Whatever!:D )

    Let’s see if the new guy “SKGAY” on twitter turns out to be a Real SRK .. ROFL, You never know ;)

      superbly put comment!! I tell you I will be embarrassed to the core if it actually turns out to be “Him”. But more than me, it will be the “Brand SRK” which will suffer the most!! Just 0.01% chance of this being genuine, but still managed to generate enough buzz!!

    Good you brought this up.. I am questioning that site myself.
    So I requested to follow him and now he is following me too. I am not sure if he is the real one although the tweets he posts look pretty genuine.

    Please keep us posted if you hear anything about the twitter profile.
    Now I am contemplating to have him removed as a follower..
