Apple released iPhone 3.0 beta 3 (build 7A280f) firmware on April 14th to the developers and already the jailbreak version of it is out. QuickPWN 3.0 Beta 3 has been released to all. But this is an Unofficial release of the tool as it is not created by iPhone Dev team. So, I personally feel it is highly risky to go ahead and use this tool. The latest iPhone 3.0 beta 3 firmware has noticeably improved in speed and performance so it’s worth the update. As of now you can only jailbreak on the iPhone 3.0 Beta 3, iPhone 3G 3.0 beta 3, and iPod Touch 1st Gen 3.0 beta 3 firmwares. Support for iPod Touch 2nd gen has not been added.
When iPhone firmware 2.2.1 was released, Dev Team had released PwnageTool which allowed users to upgrade to iPhone firmware 2.2.1 but preserve the baseband. Since Dev Team isn’t planning to release the PwnageTool for beta version of iPhone OS 3.0; you won’t be able to preserve the baseband of your iPhone 3G.
Warning for iPhone 3G – yellowsn0w users: This will permanently block the yellowsn0w unlock
Jailbreaking with this QuickPWN release will install the Icy app created by RipDev. Once you’ve jailbroken you can launch Icy, refresh the sources and install OpenSSH to SSH into it.
Proceed with downloading only if you know what you are doing.

Looks like quickpwn for 3.0 beta 3 FORCES an icon to their site after every reboot. Poor form IMHO.
@Cheetos72,
Thanks for alerting us all.
@Cheetos72 You can remove the icon by holding it down until it wiggles and tapping the “x” icon on the upper-left.
You can, but after you turn the phone off and then back on again — its magic. The icon re-appears…
