This is exactly the same as Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 v8.0.0.504 except that it is re-branded to another name and uses German language interface. But we now know how to permanently change the Kaspersky Security Suite CBE German language to English.

1. Go to this Promotional Offer page and fill up the form to register for an account at computerbild.de

2. Check your email. You should get an email from ComputerBild with confirmation link to activate your account.
3. Click on the confirmation link and check the second checkbox to request for the Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 license key and click the “Lizenzschlüssel anfordern” button.
4. Check your email again and this time you will get an email containing the license key to activate Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 2009.
5. Download latest Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 2009 and install. Now everything is in German. If you can understand German language, then you don’t really need to change the language to English. For others, continue the steps.
6. After installation and Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 is running, click the Einstellungen button on the top right to bring up the settings window.
7. Click Parameter and uncheck Selbstschutz aktiveren. Click OK to close the Einstellungen window.
8. Go to Start > Run, type regedit and click OK. Navigate to the following path in the Registry Editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKasperskyLabprotectedAVP8environment
9. Look for Localization and double click to edit the string.
10. Change the value data from de to en.
11. You can either Restart your computer or terminate Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 and run it again to see the changes. See the image below, Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 in ENGLISH!

It says for 3 months (till September 2009), but Computer Bild has been providing updated license key since 2007 to keep the product activated!!

I’m using vista and I could find the regedit but HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP8\environment path is not there neither it’s there in HKEY_CURRENT_USER..

and changed Localization “de” to “en” it works like a charm !!!!!

Hi, there! I was wondering if this Kaspersky is gonna work on Win7 x64?
I don’t need to change the language, I’m fine with it. I heard that the drivers for Vista are compatible with 7 so.. if they are this should be too but I want to be sure, that is why I’m asking you. -_-
