Monk is an American crime drama, created by Andy Breckman and starring Tony Shalhoub as the titular Adrian Monk. It is primarily a mystery series, although the show also features broadly comic touches. The show debuted on July 12, 2002, on the USA Network. After the unsolved murder of his wife, Adrian Monk develops obsessive compulsive disorder – a terrifying and irrational fear of germs and contamination.
