On this coming September 20, 2009 at exactly 8PM ET Sunday night,one of the biggest awards in the field of television-”The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards” will be aired live by CBS network and E! channel. The Primetime Emmy Awards are awards presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in recognition of excellence in American primetime television programming.

The 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards will take place at Nokia Theater, Los Angeles California and will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris (photo above), known for his role on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. He previously won acclaim when he hosted the 2009 Tony Awards and the TV Land Awards.

The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards 2009 is the third installment of the Emmy this year, a culmination of handing out distinctions for the best in television every year. The Daytime Emmy Awards 2009 were handed out last month and the Creative Arts Emmy Awards winners for 2009 were handed out last Sunday. Now, its time to hand out the best in prime time television.

The awards show will be broadcast live on television. But for those of you who may not have the opportunity to see this event on TV, there are other options.
