The Mentalist, starring Simon Baker and Robin Tunney, is a crime drama airing on CBS. A former fake psychic, Patrick Jane now devotes his time and keen observational skills to helping the California Bureau of Investigations solve crimes.
His supervisor, Teresa Lisbon, is wary of Jane’s unorthodox methods and his driving quest to find Red John, the serial killer who murdered his family. However, they put their differences aside and work together, along with the rest of the CBI team, to solve their cases.
The Season 1 of Mentalist was a huge success and was the highest-rated television show of the week, marking the first time a program in its first season had achieved that distinction since Desperate Housewives four years earlier. Season 2 of Mentalist will premiere on September 24, 2009 in the US on CBS at 10pm ET.
