Just announced is a drastic price reduction for the Garmin Nuvifone G60 GPS handset. The Nuvifone G60 started out earlier this year as a $300 handset on top of the two-year contract is now being offered for $99.99 at Amazon. I wonder whether Garmin would be offering rebate for those people who’ve bought into the joke for the original asking price.

The Nuvifone G60 features GPS navigation with preloaded maps, e-mail and texting, 3-megapixel camera and Internet browser. It comes with a car mount, but no car charger. The Camera has autofocus and the option to geotag photos. The screen flips smoothly between vertical and horizontal viewing. It’s easy to type on the touch-screen keyboard, which also works vertically or horizontally.

Premium connected services includes real-time traffic updates, white pages, weather, movies, local events and fuel prices. These features are extremely helpful when you’re out and about because they provide you with the information you need to make good decisions like where to buy the cheapest gas and what roads to travel to avoid traffic.
