The most important safety measure you can take, and one that all owners of cell phones should take, is to write down the phone’s IMEI number which can be used in the event of the phone being stolen, to block further use. This is done while filing a police report which can be done over the phone. It will make the phone unusable in any conventional sense, although it may still in the iphone’s (or other smartphones’) case be usable on a wifi network. But the value of a phone than can’t be used for calling, 2g/3g/4g/edge etc, texting, or going online without wifi, will be greatly lower than one you can just change the sim card on.

Make your iphone, and all of our iphones, less desirable for a thief and be sure to know your IMEI number.

the other services are very useful though. i feel sad that i didn’t have any of them installed before mine got stolen….

i bought an iphone 3gs a month ago and just for few days it got stolen i called my provider and they said they cant tracked it down cuz at&t got no insurance for it they said the thief can used it. .can u help me.. it cost a lot of money you know and just like that its gone… do you know any website to lock or shutdown the phone using IMEI..

My iPhone got stolen not the other day, what really bums me out is there were some amazing pictures of my girlfriend on it that I hadn’t backed up yet.

Hopefully my iPhone and those beautiful pictures come back to me.
