Google just hosted an event giving insight into its much hyped Google Chrome OS, an overview of the technology and launch plans for its launch next year. It has been speculated that the internet giant would release its Chrome OS Code as open-source code and this in fact seems to be the case. The source code for Google Chrome OS is available for download now and is ready to be explored. A Twitter update from Google employee Matt Cutts detailed where you can download the source code.

Chrome OS is an entirely new approach to computing. The average computer user spends most of his or her time on the Internet, so Google wants to cut out the middleman: the traditional operating system, which sits between a computer’s hardware and a Web browser.
