ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is a great desktop security solution, complete with effective protection and advanced features. ESET NOD32 is particularly useful for home users looking for a simple easy-to-use security software that they can simply install and let the software do the work for them. ESET has proven to be one of the best overall performing antivirus software, and continue the trend with their most recent installment, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.
NOD32 has always been a people’s favorite and has a great reputation in the software world. With version 4, ESET builds on that reputation, emphasizing its community-sourced ThreatSense for preventing attacks before they occur, a slick interface, and some of the highest independently-tested detection rates married to low rates of false positives.
NOD32 – Installation
Installation of NOD32 was brisk and straight-forward. With the wizard based installer, the user has little to choose and hence worry upon. Activation can be done during or after the install. To activate the software, users have to enter the username and password provided to them when they purchase the software.
NOD32 – User Interface
NOD32′s main program interface window can be accessed by double-clicking the program’s icon in the system tray. There is no wait time for the window to open, which is a clue to how well optimized NOD32 is. NOD32′s user-interface is very clean and simple looking, yet very effective. The program comes defaulted to Standard Mode which is fine for most users. For advanced users NOD32 has an Advanced Mode that gives the user much more control over the software with the many more options made available.

Performance and Effectiveness
Ease of use is the main USP of NOD32 AV. Select Smart scan or custom scan as per your wish. You can pause or stop the scan anytime. When the scan is complete you will be shown a list of the results and you can decide what action to take from cleaning, ignoring, or quarantine the malware. With Real-time scanning enabled you will get a notification and can immediately decide what to do with it.
As for the effectiveness, I personally don’t care about how many virus an antivirus can catch, as the number of virus in the list is nothing but to brag about. Still, NOD32 is amongst the best (if not THE best) when it comes to effectiveness. For me what matters more is ease of use and memory utilized by the antivirus solution. This is where NOD32 scores most of the points.
The product installs a Windows service and runs a single executable for the program’s interface. Amount of RAM used is very minimal. None of the antivirus I have tested till date come close to NOD32 in terms of performance and stability. A full scan of my system’s hard-disk which is around 35GB just took 15 minutes and 20 seconds, which might not be the fastest scan, but still faster than many.

ESET’s Help Files within the program are very useful and well laid out. The product support is top notch. You can either email the the technical support team or log a ticket via their website. The phone support is for limited hours and there is no toll-free number which is the only downside.

NOD32 Version 4.0 is an extremely easy to use program. Its user-interface is the easiest to use with everything clearly laid out. NOD32′s Performance and Effectiveness are both top-notch. It is extremely light on system resources and performs very well on a home system. NOD32 Antivirus 4 is a polished and user-friendly software security solution. Merry X-Mas to all, I have a netbook and i consider which av solution i should choose for along time. The question is simple but believe me finding the answer is not easy. Nearly i downloaded every sort of av solutions to test on my netbook, here my experiences about nod32: first of all, nod32 handled 1.66 GhZ CPU and 2 GB RAM softly, i can say that it is really user friendly on system sources, what about detection rates? There are a lot of reliable and independent test results which show me that i should use nod32, these test are not just malware sample tests they are also include some other (dynamic etc.) tests, this is a good chance for me to have nod32 license so let me write a little more, software conflicts are important for me, i use a firewall which i dont want to mention its name here for a long time and i cant give it up, so it is important to not have confilct between av and fw, so nod32 has no conflict with my other security setups and all these make nod32 better chooice for me.

I test many antivirus. But ESET NOD32 is the only one who runs very system. No conflict in my current security setup. Runs light and no impact in my other software running or launch it. Best of all, the only one with no problem in running online games with NProtect Gameguard.
ESET NOD32 is in my current system but I only have a 30 days activation.

Hmm..I probably need this one as my Net Protector license is about to expire on 3rd Jan. So it will be good if I get this one as I have never used this anti virus before.
Ive heard from people who have used Eset Nod32 antivirus to be good in providing the needed protection for our computer as well as being light on resources.
If I win the license then I will not be needed to search for another antivirus software as I am not going to renew Net protectors license and it will of course save my time continuing to protect my computer and my data.

The last prize is very good but it should have been the Security Suite,not just the AV.
Kaspersky and Panda have donated their security suites in other giveaways but ESET fails to follow suit.

Im currently stuck with Microsoft Security Essentials after my Avira Premium 3-month trial expired. Interested in looking for a replacement, as MSE is showing huge spikes in CPU usage occasionally, lasting 5-10 minutes, and Avira Frees update is too slow.

NOD32 is my choice for a corporate a/v and as such I purchased over 300 seats. I would love to have it for the home network for my teenage sons. Economics in 2009 have been extremely tough and I have not been able to make the purchase. This contest would be a positive change.

I switched to NOD because my son said it is lite and does not slow his online game. Apart from some early overkill, it just work better. Merry Holidays!

I’ve heard many things about NOD32, one of my friends keeps recommending me to get it. I’ve used AVG for many years, and have grown to like it… but recently it has started to come up with many false-positives, and constantly has ads that nag me to get this or that version of AVG. I’ve tried NOD32 before, and it works fantastically… would be great to win a 1 year licence for it

I have first tried NOD32 way back 3 years ago, and it did its job well. After that I had to use a free antivirus solution. It would be wonderful to have NOD32 to protect my PC for a year! Wow, I really wish to win a license. My trial of NIS 2010 is about to end.

My paid license for it closed a couple of months ago and currently Im using free Avast which is also not bad but it would be rather a miracle if I could win a license for my fav antivirus by taking part in this contest.

I prefer to use different single security products rather than a whole internet security suite.
Concernig the antivirus, for the moment Im using a free solution, Avira Antivir, which is the best freeware.
If I was to buy a commercial antivirus, since a little bit more than a year my choices are Eset Nod32, Kaspersky and Avira. But my first choice between these three solutions is Eset Nod32 without any doubt…
The TechPPs presentation of the product speaks by itself, I cant say more because if I was to speak about this product I would say exactly the same…
Im wishing a good luck to everybody and for those who will not win one of the free licenses I will say that they should really try this excellent product before buying anything else.

NOD32 is one of the best antivirus in the industry and i love to have that in my machine.. Yay I was right! I was thinking awhile on what would be the TechPP.com’s final giveaway to us all and I was extremely correct. Antivirus would be the perfect giveaway anyway as none of us lives our pc running without them. I was not surprise ESET NOD32 top notch the list from TechPP. I tried the trial before and it did splendid protection to me. No prob, no lags on resources whatsoever! I recommend it to all my friends. Second that comes close is Avast free which I am using now after ESET NOD32 trial expired. I am not hoping to win but if chosen, this would be AWESOME! Thanks to TechPP.com. I have tested Nod32 (it was my favorite one) but it was getting more and more weight on over time… And licence was a bit too high priced for me. Hope that new version works better

I have been using ESET for almost 2 years now, and have made my company change over from McAfee to ESET around this time last year. Computers every perform a lot better with ESET in terms access speed, and the protection provided is unmatched while giving you full access to your PC. McAfee had so many locks in place that prohibited from us doing work effectively.
I also got a netbook for christmas, instantly uninstalled norton internet security 2009 which came with the computer, and put on ESET 4.2 beta and still noticed a significant performance boost. I highly recommend this product to all of my friends!

Argh! Wish we had seen this giveaway sooner.
We tried NOD32 and loved it. Immediately after the install, it prompted for critical Windows updates that were missing on one PC and caught an issue on another. Please note that we were not previously unprotected…. we had MacAfee and Webroot.
All told, we’ve now switched 5 of our machines to NOD32. We also appreciate the added speed during startup, the speed of scans, and the ability to do other things productively while NOD32 is running. The claims are all true, and for the record, we are not affiliated with ESET in any way.
Hats off to ESET! We’ve become a big fan.

ESET Nod32 are a famous celebrity in these days, little bit of a must have for keeping a computer safe and clean.
Was useing their software through a short period of time a couple of years ago and must say it had high class in configuration with good style and design. Remember it had very good detection rate compared with other I had been useing before, so it was a positive experience.
Would be fun give it a new try and see how much have changed and developed in this newer version!

I guess there is something wrong in the procedure followed. The key is valid for Nod32 Antivirus and not for smart security. Cross check which one you are trying to activate. Following the steps mentioned in email should help you activate the license
