iPhone 4.0 was announced a little while back and everyone seems to be excited about the introduction of Multitasking in the latest version. But there is lot more in iPhone 4.0 than just multitasking. There are more than 100 new features introduced and here we list some of the most important ones

iPhone 4.0 - Important Features

iphone-multitasking 1. Multitasking - Obviously, this one is the best of the lot, something Apple anti-fans were proud about till now. It's handled with a simple task switcher: double click your home button, and you get a list of running apps. Select, switch, done. Multitasking is limited to audio (Pandora!), VoIP (Skype!) and GPS (Navigation!) 2. Fast app switching - with multitasking available now, the apps can just remain frozen when closed, so that when you reopen them, they are restored to exactly the same state they were in when they were closed. 3. Local Notifications - It will be the same as before, but there’s also another one: Local Notifications. They’re just like push notifications, but you don’t need a server. 4. App folders - This is something which excited me. Now you...

This is huge Apple fanboys. All those who were cribbing about the lack of multi-tasking would now heave a sign of huge relief. And probably for Google (Android) this is a big setback.

Multitasking in iPhone 4.0

Apple says that even though they are not the first to come out with multitasking, they will surely be the best in implementing. The aim is to make sure that the apps are not sluggish when multi-asked. Effectively this means you can listen to your favorite songs on Pandora while writing an email or browsing the web and in case you get a call over skype, you can receive it in one click! We have been tracking news about Windows 7 SP1 for the past couple of months and yet again the rumors have been proved real. Windows 7 SP1 has finally leaked and is already available on various torrent trackers. Geeksmack broke this news yesterday along with some screenshots of this build of SP1, compile date being March 27th [6.1.7601.16537.amd64fre.win7.100327-0053]

windows-7-service-pack-1

As per Microsoft, Dynamic Memory support and a more robust Remote Desktop client which uses RemoteFX are the 2 major additions coming via Service Pack 1. It will, of course, also include the various fixes which have been delivered via Windows Update prior to SP1's release.

Warning: Downloading a major update to your OS from any source other than Microsoft itself is potentially dangerous and not recommended. More than anything else, I see hardly anything worthwhile included in the release worth the risk in getting a hand on the leaked source. If you are still desperate to try out this leaked build, here is the link Download Windows 7 SP1 {leaked} [
Few of the thousands of TechPP readers were complaining about loads of iPad related news off-late. We just couldn't help it! Now, for a change we have something to write other than iPad, but not completely though! The iPad alternative, HP Slate's specs and pricing have been leaked. And this time it looks for real. There are 10 other so called iPad killers waiting in the wings, but none of them have managed to gather enough interest as HP Slate. This Steve Ballmer backed tablet was always known to be running on Windows 7 OS, but the latest leaked document from HP seems to provide additional details about HP Slate and hence a better comparison with iPad.

HP Slate - Specs

  • 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive multi-touch display,
  • 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor with UMA graphics and an accelerator for 1080p video playback,

  • VGA webcam (inward facing), 3MP camera (outward facing)

HP Slate Pricing

The baseline model will cost $549. The Intel Atom Z530 processor will give the Slate about 5 hours of battery life, which is quite bad, considering that the iPad offer about 10 hours. There will...
