Guide to Jailbreak iPod Touch 3G OS 3.1.3 with Spirit Untethered

As you already know, the Spirit Jailbreaking tool was released some time back and as promised here is a detailed guide to jailbreak iPod Touch 3G on OS 3.1.3 using Spirit untethered tool. Spirit works on both Windows and Mac OS X and can jailbreak all the newer iDevices like iPhone touch 3G and 2G (MC model), iPhone 3GS and the newly released iPad as long as they are officially activated via iTunes.

Using an untethered jailbreaking tool like Spirit, you do not need to re-jailbreak your iPod Touch every time you restart it (which is so annoying).

Make sure you backup your SHSH files before jailbreaking your iPod Touch 2G/3G using Spirit. Of course you can still jailbreak your device without backing up the SHSH files, but in case Apple patches this exploit, there will be no way you downgrade to 3.1.2 later on.     Hi, i have a iPod Touch 3G 32 Gb (MC model) with 3.1.3, and i tryed to use Spirit in MAC OS X, and it didnt work, the display would stay forever inthat wallpaper from Spirit while its doing the jailbreak. Today i tryed to do the jailbreak in the same ipod, but in Windows 7, i set compatibility mode to Windows 95, and everything went great, after few seconds my iPod was jailbroken with Cydia installed.

    Hope this helps others that also had problems with Spirit version for OSX.

    Got an iTouch3G 8GB which had got fucked up by iTunes and Blackra1n this, couldnt be easier. WORKED LIKE A CHARM.

    heey,

    i’ve been trying to jailbreak my ipod touch 3.1.3 2g 8gb mc model for about 3 days now. i downloaded spirit but it got stuck on the screen and i kept trying to reboot but everytime it just didn’t work.
    it never gets past like, the blackhole loading screen.

    what am i doing wrong?

    I would really like to know what exactly I need to download to jailbreak my iPod touch 2nd gen… I know it’s a version of spirit but which one and how do I know which one to download either Mac or other
