Apple, a company proud to have kept almost everything they do (including the name of iPad) a secret seems to have lost it in 2010. After the iPhone 4G leak few weeks back, a Vietnamese blog, Tinhte.com has got their hands on a new iPod Touch 4G with a 2 megapixel camera!

They claim that the device they have got hold of is actually a prototype and not the final design of the product (notice the DVT-1 stamp?). This prototype is manufactured by Foxconn and boasts of 64GB memory (that's huge!) and is running a firmware diagnostic software. As always, it is very tough to validate the authenticity of these pictures, but as you can see, the pics look real and non-photoshopped.

google-chrome Google I/O 2010 is underway at San Fransisco and just now Google has announced the Chrome Web Store, an open marketplace for web apps. Google says that Chrome now has 70 million active users across all platforms that app developers can target.

We have already seen how Rearming Windows 7 enables Windows 7 trial users to extend the trial period to 4 months instead of 1 month. Now, new tools have emerged which claim to reset the rearm count to 4 every time you run the tool, which essentially means you can use Windows 7 forever without cracking it. As discussed earlier, rearming Windows 7 extends the evaluation period by a month. But this process can be repeated 3 times at max. But the Rearm Count Reset Tools make this process even easier as the whole process is automated. If the steps are followed carefully, you can use Windows 7 forever without cracking. These tools Rearm Windows 7 automatically on 29th or 30th Day of every month. There are 3 Rearm Count reset tools - InfiniteRearm4, Windows7Rearm Forever and Windows 7 Rearm Task which essentially have similar features and functionality. All these tools come with an instruction file which may be thoroughly followed in order to reset Windows 7 Rearm count. Disclaimer: Many people claim rearming process is harmless, but we have not tested these tools ourselves. This is only for educative purposes. Use them at your own risk.

Facebook has run into multiple problems in recent times mainly due to their handling of privacy concerns of their users. The most popular social networking site constantly changes its privacy terms and their latest changes have resulted in people ending up sharing more than what they actually intended to the general public. This has happened because of changes in Facebook's default privacy settings. We have always stressed how important it is to cross check the privacy settings of Facebook, but for a not-so-tech-savvy user, the process is cumbersome and time-consuming. Thankfully, some concerned folks at ReclaimPrivacy have come out with a bookmarklet that can scan a Facebook account to evaluate the privacy settings. The bookmarklet is a no-brainer and really easy to use. All that the Facebook users need to do is to drag the bookmarklet to their bookmarks and click on it to initiate the privacy scan. Not to mention, one needs to be logged on to his/her Facebook account before clicking on the bookmarklet.

The scan will perform six different checks:
  • If the user has opted out of the Instant Personalization feature
  • If the personal information are restricted to friends or closer
  • If the contact information...
I am sure some of you will be shocked to see such a title on a tech blog. Well, it is true, but with a twist. I am talking about WeightMirror, an interesting online tool to visualize how you would look when you lose or gain weight. This tool does help people to get motivated about losing (or gaining) weight. The process is really quick and takes about a minute. First you need to upload your photo and properly align your face. I suggest you to upload a pic with front profile of yours. Next wait for WeightMirror to get your "skinny" look. It also puts the new image next to original one so you can see the difference. You can also print out both of the pictures too.

I tried out with couple of my pics and it left me deeply impressed. It is appreciably fast and highly accurate. However simple a tool might be, it manages to impress you if it does its job as expected. This instant weightloss (or gain) visualizer falls into that category. WeightMirror also comes as an iPhone app and costs $2.99 on the app store. It includes a BMI...

Guest Post by Harsh Athalye Blogging revolves around creative topic ideas. But ideas don’t come easily. The harder you try, the farther they go away from you. Like a butterfly, just when you think you are inches closer to an idea; it flies away from your hands. But ideas alone don’t make it easy to write a blog post. An Idea needs to be expanded into useful, interesting and comprehensible write-up. How to expand an idea? You need to make a little bit of research to dig into the background of the topic, to see other people’s thoughts, news related to your topic, relevant images, quotes, useful resources, links and so on. Thankfully, internet has evolved into such a huge monster of information that you can find information on almost any topic. Beware though; you can easily get lost in this ocean of information. So how to effectively research for your blog post without getting carried away?
