hulu-plus

A great news for TV junkies in US! The rumored Hulu Plus is now official. So far your iPhone, iPad (WiFi or 3G), Samsung TV, Sony TV and Blu-ray player is supported, with Vizio, PS3, and Xbox coming soon — all for just $10 a month!

It looks like Hulu Plus will be an invite based service for a while. You can request for Hulu Plus invite over here. Even if you don’t have an invite, you’ll still be able to download a Hulu Plus application on the iPad, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. The application will feature a limited number of episodes, but good enough to get a feel on how the paid service would be like.

The company isn’t eliminating its free, ad-supported service. Instead, Hulu Plus comes with the ability to watch programming on mobile devices or set top boxes instead of a computer, plus a few other bonus features including 720p HD video playback and access to complete seasons of TV shows instead of just the last few episodes.

Unlike Netflix, which offers a similar subscription-based service, Hulu Plus users will have to pay a monthly fee and put up with commercials in their TV shows. I expect to see Hulu apps for Android, BlackBerry, or Windows Phone devices soon.

More details coming soon. Stay tuned.
