Shakira had fans dancing in their seats as South Africa began saying farewell to the 2010 World Cup in pulsating fashion on Sunday. The 2010 FIFA World Cup came to an end with the closing ceremony in South Africa’s Johannesburg city held tonight. It happened just before the match between finalists Spain Vs Netherlands at the Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg.
Shakira, backed by South African Afro-fusion band Freshlyground, did one last rendition of the cup’s theme tune, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” after a lights show and fireworks. Also performing was Grammy Award-winning cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
The closing ceremony has a wide range of worldwide musicians, dancers and visual artists who entertain the crowd at the Soccer City Stadium.
