A BBC News app for the iPhone and iPad has been launched in the UK after Apple approved the apps earlier today. Similar apps for BBC Sport and iPlayer will also be coming soon.
The apps were due for April 2010, but got delayed due to BBC Trusts’s non-approval of the apps. The BBC Trust has just given the green light to the free, UK release of its iPhone apps. The News app was available outside UK till now, but will now be available in UK too.
The BBC News iOS app is ‘universal’ meaning it is designed for use with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. You can see the demo video of BBC News app on iPad after the break. Apps for other devices such as Android phones will launch later in the year.
