Just a fortnight after Windows 7 SP1 beta was made available to the MSDN and TechNet subscribers, Microsoft has released the Win7 Sp1 beta to the general public. If you were itching to get your hands on the service pack, here is a chance to go ahead and try it out right now.
I need to repeat that this is not the final SP1 release and only a beta, so proceed cautiously. Personally I do not see a need to rush and install this beta Sp1, unless you are a system admin or a developer. Moreover Windows 7 SP1 RTM is also expected sometime soon. In that case you might have to uninstall this beta release before updating.
As we had already mentioned in previous posts, there are no new and exciting features coming with Windows 7 Sp1. If you still insist on the download link, it is given below. You are required to have a Windows Live ID.
