All the talks rumors about Google’s Chrome OS tablet seem to be proven true. If DownloadSquad has to be believed, HTC is building a Chrome OS tablet for Google which will be launched on Verizon on November 26th of this year!
Neither the partnership with HTC nor the association with Verizon should come as a surprise, since HTC built the Google’s first (and may be the last) smartphone – Nexus One, while Verizon is it’s partner in crime (know about Net Neutrality?). As for the launch date being Nov 26th, that’s a great day to launch an ambitious gadget. It’s Black Friday 2010 which is the busiest shopping day in US.
Rumors also suggest that the pricing of Chrome OS tablet will be competitive and hugely subsidized. That is probably the only way for Google & Verizon to take on Apple’s iPad head on. And what about the hardware specs? It’ll likely be based on NVidia’s Tegra 2 platform and sport a 1280×720 multitouch display, 2GB of RAM, minimum 32GB SSD, WiFi/Bluetooth/3G connectivity, GPS, webcam, and possibly expandable storage via a multi-card reader.
I can already see the geeks licking their lips at this beauty! Will you buy it?
