Apple released iOS 4.0.2 just a while back which is basically aimed at fixing the PDF exploit which was used by the JailbreakMe tool to jailbreak all the iDevices on iOS 4 & iOS 4.0.1, which essentially means if you have jailbroken your iPhone 4/3GS or iPad 3.2/3.2.1 or iPod touch 3G/2G, you must NOT upgrade to iOS 4.0.2 But if you are using an iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G (non-MC model) you can jailbreak it using the existing version of Redsn0w - Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5. Simply follow the step by step guide posted below to jailbreak the mentioned devices on iOS 4.0.2 using Redsn0w.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 iPhone 3G using RedSn0w

Step 1: Download iOS 4.0.2 for your version of iPhone and iPod touch. Step 2: Update to this latest firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 9.2. Step 3: Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 [Mac | Windows]

ios-4-0-2 Apple has just released iOS 4.0.2 firmware upgrade for iPhone & iPod Touch (and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad) which patches the dangerous PDF exploit. Needless to say, if you have a jailbroken iPhone, refrain from updating as this patch closes the loophole used by JailbreakMe tool to jailbreak all iDevices on iOS 4.0.1 The update is available for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4, iPod Touch 2G and 3G. If you have not jailbroken your iDevice and if you don't intend to, then go right ahead and connect your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad with your computer via USB and start iTunes. As always, you will see a pop-up informing the new update being available.

Guest post by Neil Jones mobile-retailing-mobiles If there’s one word that best describes the 21st century, it’s definitely the word mobile. Today, people on the go don’t have to stop moving if they want to get things done at home or in the office. Wherever they may be, busy yuppies and seasoned globetrotters alike can go shopping, pay their bills, and buy food with handheld devices—all without ever leaving their seat. Mobile stuff abound everywhere: portable gaming devices, laptops, music and video players, smartphones, e-book readers, ultra-mobile personal computers and tablets are just some of the more popular and visible devices that people use on a daily basis. These small, incredibly smart mobile devices pack a punch, allowing people who are constantly on the move to bring multi-tasking to a whole new level. In the past, these technological wonders were only applied to doing tasks for professional work, such as checking email, creating presentations, and reviewing documents on the go. Mobile phones have practically become a permanent accessory of the 21st century professional, what with people bringing and using their phones wherever they may be. It doesn’t matter whether you’re at home or abroad, because you can always rely on...
An Android trojan has been spotted making rounds in Russian networks which sends SMS to premium numbers (one's that costs extra money) and has just been confirmed by Kaspersky as well.

SMS Android Trojan

android-trojan This is the first text message based trojan to infect the Android smartphones. Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer-A poses as a harmless media player application and has already infected a number of mobile devices, majorly in Russia and might spread to other places too if not addressed at the earliest. Kaspersky mentions that the trojaned media player file is just over 13 KB with the standard Android .APK extension. Once installed, the Trojan begins sending SMS messages to premium-rate numbers without the owner’s knowledge or consent. Though there were some isolated reports of a Banking app trojan affecting few Android users early this year, this seems to be more wide-spread than the previous instances.

How to protect your Android phone from this Trojan?

Kaspersky Mobile Security for Android is only expected to be released in early 2011 as per the reports. The best you can do right now is to pay close attention to all the new apps you are going to install on your phone. It is really important...
Yesterday, we posted a detailed guide to download, jailbreak and unlock any firmware version of iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad. But that is still a cumbersome process, isn't it? Don't you wish for an easier way out? How about a single click unlock for any iPhone or iPod touch or even an iPad? Sounds too good to be true, isn't it? But unlocking an iDevice is no big deal really.
