If there is one service you are asked to pick which is constantly evolving and improving, it has to be GMail. Google Labs has rolled out a new feature with lots of enhancements to the Gmail video chat, which will let you enjoy higher resolution video and a bigger video chat window.

From the Gmail blog,

The higher resolution video uses a new playback mechanism which enables widescreen VGA and frees up valuable resources on your computer. For it to work, both you and the person you’re chatting with will need to have the lab turned on. Remember that you can always revert to standard video chat by disabling the lab.

How to Turn On Higher Resolution Video Chat in GMail?

In order to turn on this feature, visit the Gmail tabs under settings (or click here) and turn on “Video chat enhancements”.

Moreover, Google is planning to add even more enhancements to the video chat feature. By enabling the “Video chat enhancements” features under Gmail labs, you are guaranteed to experience them automatically, without meddling with the settings again!
