Vopium app for Android phones has been updated and now offers Free International calls over Wi-Fi and 3G. As with any other VOIP based app, Vopium’s offer comes with a catch

You can call other Vopium users, Skype users and Gtalk users for free when you are both online. Calls to all other phones are offered at very low rates, even if they do not have Vopium installed.

Users can make 15 minutes of free calls worldwide over Wi-Fi or 3G network. Over and above that will be charged at very competitive rates. Vopium application for android is available right now in the Android market and is probably the cheapest way of making international calls, but then it requires you to be connected to the internet at the time of calling since all calls are handled by the servers of Vopium.


Vopium app for Android lets you chat with your Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and Twitter friends with ease. It has been tested on almost all popular android devices including HTC Desire, HTC Legend and Motorola Milestone/Droid.

Free International Calls with Vopium

As mentioned earlier, each user is entitled to 15 minutes of free international calls to any user who has not installed Vopium. Calls to users using Vopium, Skype or GMail is anyway free all the time. In order to get 15 minutes of free international calls, you would be required to register with Vopium.

Registration is simple and straight forward. Just visit this page and enter your email & phone number. Note that Wi-Fi and 3G calling is disabled by default. Just enable it from VoIP settings to make free calls.
