Less than a week back WSJ reported that they have enough reasons to believe CDMA iPhone coming to Verizon in Jan 2011 and now again, they are reporting that Apple is in talks with two Indian CDMA operators – Reliance Communications and Tata Indicom for bringing the iPhone 4 on CDMA in India.
The discussions have apparently been ongoing for four or five months according to one WSJ source. At present, Apple is selling the outdated iPhone 3GS handsets in India in association with Airtel and Vodafone. iPhone 4 launch in India was expected to be in October, but there are no real indications of that happening anytime soon.
Though the CDMA market is just around 20% in India, it is still huge compared to other parts in the world, with more than 670 million CDMA subscribers in the country. iPhone’s GSM version has till now failed to make any impact on Indian market due to various factors including the absurd data plans and unsubsidized prices. The CDMA version might not really outdo what the GSM version of iPhone has done till now. It is still a welcome news for Indian consumers though.

I think thats the only place where iPhone can capture market as CDMA users don't have much better options....
