The definition of the word ‘SmartPhone’ is fast changing. Mobile Phones are getting smarter by the day. How smart you ask? The phones will soon be able to diagnose sexually transmitted diseases like herpes, chlamydia and gonorrhoea!

According to The Guardian,

People who suspect been infected will be able to put urine or saliva on to a computer chip about the size of a USB chip, plug it into their phone or computer and receive a diagnosis within minutes, telling them which, if any, sexually transmitted infection (STI) they’ve.

If all goes according to plan, the device will retail for under $2 USD, and will be available in vending machines, pharmacies, nightclubs, nursing homes and anywhere else people go to hook up. This must come as a rude shock for many who still see those Fart apps as a taboo!

If the test is positive, the app will be able to direct you to the nearest office where you can get treatment. Now with Facebook wanting to be on all phones, all the time, you can just hope that the app won’t update your Facebook status automatically!

On a serious note, this simply proves how portable technology can make our lives much more convenient. It is nothing more than a concept for now and the app might not even see the light in due course, but one cannot rule out the possibility at all.
