Google Chrome OS Launch on December 7th [Rumor]

Take this as a virtual confirmation. Google's Chrome OS is set to be launched on December 7th 2010 along with the Chrome web store, according to the invitations to an event for the date related to Chrome. The event will be held in San Fransisco and the invite is as cryptic as it can get.

Do you remember Returnil Virtual System which we reviewed last year? Yes, it is an useful sandboxing software. Trustware's BufferZone is another useful sandboxer which is available for free download this holiday season. For the uninitiated, sandboxing is a way of cutting off suspected apps and files from the rest of the computer so if they are malicious they won't be able to affect other apps within the computer. Unlike Returnil, which places a virtual layer over your whole PC, sandboxing all changes made; then it dumps all the changes upon reboot, BufferZone only sandboxes different parts of your computer from where a threat can emerge, such as your Internet browser or P2P program. Gmail gets Smart Mute and Easy Unmute Features

Here comes a brand new Gmail labs feature - Smart Mute & Unmute. Gmail already has the mute feature in place, but this one makes it smarter by quieting unwanted email threads that aren't actually spam.

If you enable "Smart Mute" from the Labs tab in Gmail Settings, muted conversations will only appear in your inbox if a new message in the conversation is addressed to you and no one else, or a new email in the conversation adds you to "To" or "Cc" line. Once you enable Smart Mute, mute behavior will change across all versions of Gmail: web, mobile, Android, etc. Even unmuting the conversations have become easier. There are two ways to unmute now. The first is through an "Unmute" option in the "More actions" menu. You'll see this when you view or select a muted conversation.

When you're viewing a muted conversation, you'll see the second new way to unmute: the "Muted" label next to the subject line now behaves just like all other labels. Clicking on the "X" will remove the Muted label and unmute the conversation.
