All those baseless rumors of $1199 pricing of Motorola Xoom have been proved baseless. If you rely on us for the details, you might not even know about those rumors, since we didn't find it worthy enough to put it here. Anyway, Sanjay Jha, the chief executive of Motorola has just confirmed at the MWC 2011, that Verizon will be offering the unsubsidized version of Motorola Xoom for $799, which is competitive but not attractive enough like a $499 entry-point of Apple iPad.
Jha also revealed that the wi-fi only version of Xoom will be priced around $600. Motorola is expecting to sell at-least 50 million units of Xoom by the end of 2011. The $799 price tag for the Xoom 3G (which can be upgraded to 4G later on) will get you 32GB of storage space, a 10" display, and a dual-core processor. Data packages are reported to start at $20/month for a mere 1GB and top out at $80/month for 10GB.
Motorola's Xoom will officially launch next Thursday. But the pre-orders might begin as early as tomorrow, at-least on Best Buy. Will you be ordering one?
