strategy Anyone who has made it big in this world, needs to understand that it doesn’t take much to ruin his/her career. Similarly, for a company it does not take much to go from riches to rags. You could be a sportsman, a celebrity cinema artist or one of the world’s reputed companies; but it definitely becomes an uphill task to re-build the lost reputation that the company or celebrity once had. But, the essence of the saga of losing one's reputation & building it on the web again, lies in the fact that the internet world can either make you or break you. Some remedies that are worth the read for an organization from saving itself from an online fiasco are - Stop, Listen and then Act - A very important online business rule is for employees to keeps their eyes and ears wide open to spot real conversations happening on social media sites and other online areas. These real conversations are those messages posted online that relate to the organization, its products and services. Two categories of these real conversations are; ones that talk about the business itself and others that have embedded in them a sign...
mobile-shopping There was a time when people were limited to buying products that were locally available. That meant if your local shop did not have that product in stock or just did not carry it, then you would have to either go to another city or state or use some remote ordering system to get it. Online shopping changed the whole scenario by allowing people from one part of a country to buy products that are physically located at the other end of the country. Shipping these to the buyer is a responsibility sellers would love to take, since they were making more money than before, with the introduction of online shopping. With the evolution of mobile phones that are capable of online browsing, shopping became even easier. There is something that’s missing - coupons and sales that different stores offer. Obviously, you can find some at the deal sites but you’d have to browse every time for a different website. This will take a lot of your time. Smart guys have forecasted this and came up with solutions. Milo is an app for your smartphone that allows you to browse the inventories of local shops in real...

social-media-noise

Getting social is on everyone’s to-do list, every day. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Digg, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn and what not? These are some of the common places where people hangout online. And there are specific sites for people of specific interest. For instance, there are so many platforms for bloggers to come together, chat, shout and dance about their blogging ventures. It is all exciting, interesting, fun, and business. People tend to share, share and share all the time. But it seems that one needs to stop and think a bit to analyze one’s online social surrounding. It is great to share all the interesting stuff everywhere and make noise about it. It is excellent to direct your followers and friends to all the great pages you just discovered. It is a wonderful business tactic to promote or broadcast your business to your online community. But is there something called a limit? It seems yes, indeed! It is fine to capture lovely and exciting moments and post them on Facebook. But what about 192 pictures of your baby yawning and 153 pictures of you holding a beer can? That is certainly too much! Why should we seek if...

iphone-4-india Hola amigos! Get ready for the brand new Apple iPhone 5! There is no official confirmation about that yet, but an unofficial confirmation has arrived in the form of iPhone 4 to us, less fortunate Indians. It has become a norm of sorts for Apple to dump their outdated soon to be replaced models in India and other developing countries. We just got a press release from Airtel, one of the biggest cellular service providers in India about bringing iPhone 4 to India. This has to be one of the shortest and vaguest press releases I have seen in the recent times.
New Delhi, 11th April 2011: Bharti Airtel will launch iPhone 4 in India in the coming months. iPhone 4 is the most innovative phone in the world, featuring Apple's stunning Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone and FaceTime, which makes video calling a reality. For further information, please visit www.airtel.in. For more information on iPhone 4 please visit http://www.apple.com/iphone
Similar announcements were made by another cellular company, Aircel as well. As you can see above, there is no mention about the price or the release date of iPhone 4 in...
If you are a net junkie or a freelancer, the odds are that you would have come across fiverr, a popular marketplace for gigs that are priced at $5. This unique service was launched just around an year back and it was soon a hit amongst freelancers and general public. Though the concept was unique, it was way too easy for people to rip emulate the business model of Fiverr and now we have tends and hundreds of Fiverr alternatives. When there are so many Fiverr clone scripts (like this and this) available, it shouldn't be that tough for the rippers! This is very similar to the story behind Groupon clones!

Rupees4Gigs

rupees4gigs As expected, we now have an Indian version of Fiverr, aptly named Rupees4Gigs. $5 of Fiverr has been replaced by INR 500 on rupees4gigs. So everything you see here is worth 500 bucks! You get some usual stuff like T-shirts & paintings to weird ones like wordpress installation & poster designs! The website is easy to navigate and find the gig you love to buy. Users can even request a gig for which they are ready to...
facebook_linkedin Anybody who has an account in LinkedIn would know that there is a more professional atmosphere in the site compared to that of Facebook, which is based on a personal networking concept. They have been head to head as networking sites for a long time, but in different niches. While LinkedIn focused on making the experience more professional by letting people post their professional history and connect especially with people from the same field, Facebook is open to any profile. But that makes it somewhat “rookie” looking, since your contacts or friends can be of no professional relevance to you. Therefore, using Facebook for professional matters could be a bad choice, since the social networking platform isn’t crafted for that. But there are lots of people who have accounts in both websites so that they could easily interconnect with their friends and family, as well as coworkers and potential employers/employees. In the past months, LinkedIn is trying to adopt this social attitude, promoted by Facebook and Twitter. They have had an API for a long time but with such a limited access that no one actually had any interest in using it....
