facebook-share The short term answer: The same thing you find yourself naturally linking to! That however isn't really very accurate - only the concept is. Facebook has ~550 million users (It’s hard to keep up these days) in the U.S.A. and more growing every day. The number of webmasters out there is - well let’s just say a very small percentage of that. And the things that you and I are linking to, really isn't what average people are going to be posting on their Facebook feeds. The concept is the same however, as it is when you naturally link to something during link building or writing a post. People on Facebook recommend stuff that they like. Here is one great example (for all you sports fans out there) of an article called The Lessons of Nathaniel Jones. I put this as an example because I found myself, without even thinking about it, recommending it on Facebook (plus it's just an amazing article). No wonder, more than 9000 people have shared it on Facebook alone. This is important because Google is leaning on social media now more than ever, and probably will do so more and more...
intel Intel has announced the launch of one of the most resourceful chip designs with the all new Atom chip architecture.  This latest chip will be named "Silvermont" and is due to be released in the market by 2013 which will be the best architecture in the new transistor structures. These advanced transistor structures will be instrumental in adding a new range of architectural designing. With the atom architectural change which is found in laptops, this is the first of its kind to be most extensively used. The new "Silvermont" when used along with 3D transistors will improve power efficiency to the maximum and also enhance its functionality. Similar to all the other atom processors, even the "Silvermont" will make use of the chip technology that is widely used in smartphones and tablets these days. The latest Z760 processor being launched by Intel is also a silicon on one piece of silicon or in a one-chip package which is otherwise known as SOC. This technology of SOCs will bring in assimilation, execution and competence that will be unmatched. Given this situation, Intel is expected to propel the number...

software-students

The world couldn’t get forward without tech gadgets and software. And, students are no exception. While software help big businesses and firms, they do embrace students too! Students always need at least a handful of them to (i) get the jobs done easily, (ii) to get clarified with stuff, (iii) to have fun and (iv) for the “real” studying itself. Here is a collection of ten highly useful software which one must add to his / her “software acquiring” list. Note that we have tried to include as many free software as possible, considering the target audience being students, but some of them might be shareware or might come with extensive trial. Credits to KillerTechTips for bringing into light many of these lesser known gems. 1. Connectify – This is the easiest application to use on Android that helps to turn a 3G or 4G enabled phone or Tablet into a Wi-Fi hotspot which is secured with password protection. 2. r-data-analysis Guest post by Adam Green. "Analytics" is a real buzzword these days. Whether you're a marketer, a webmaster, or a CFO, you need data to stay competitive. And now that the tools used to gather data are more widely available and user-friendly than ever, there's really no excuse not to use them. Many are even free. Google Analytics, for example, is a free data-gathering platform nearly every serious web publisher uses to monitor web traffic. But uses for analytical data transcend web activities, and many organizations use the R programming language to track a variety of undertakings. For the uninitiated, R is not a web application, but an expressive language used for data analysis. Even Google and Facebook use it to examine critical data and perform predictive modeling. R, in fact, has emerged as one of the premier data analysis tools available. Here are 4 reasons why: 1. R is an open source project Anyone can download R and start using it immediately The source code has been available for over 15 years, so today's users benefit from a variety of expert improvements and modifications. R also provides open interfaces that let it integrate with organizations' existing systems. While third...
social-media-cultures Guest post by Christian Arno. If your business is trying to break into a foreign market and grow its customer base, social media can be of great help. The following tips should get you started with the key online platforms.
  1. Understand what Social Media can Do for Your Business: Consider the facts – Facebook now has 600 million users and Twitter has 200 million users. LinkedIn is growing fast, while new local and industry networks are popping up all the time. These are all free platforms where potential customers, clients and contacts are hanging out, talking and doing business. You wouldn’t want to miss out.
  2. Simply Setting up a Facebook Page is not Enough: Same as with your website content, you need to approach your social media content with a plan. How often will you update? What will you write about and when? How will the updates fit in with your overall marketing strategy? Who will monitor the account and respond to any feedback? Consider all this with care before launching your brand on the social networks.
  3. Localize your Social Media Content: Just as it is important to painstakingly localize your web content, you should do the...

google-music

Google Music, the cloud based music storage and music player for Android (Honeycomb and Gingerbread) devices which gives you access to your personal music collection without the hassle of wires or syncing, was announced at the Google I/O 2011. Sadly enough, Google Music beta will be available in US only and like any other new Google service, will be invite based. Google Music is similar to Amazon's cloud player which was launched in last month. Apple has plans to take iTunes to the cloud as well. But the problem with Google's cloud player is with the licensing (or lack of it) of music. Amazon users are able to download mp3 songs since Amazon has worked out licensing terms with major labels like Sony music, Universal, Warner music etc.

Google Music will only work on devices that support Flash, though, which means that it will not be compatible with Apple products such as the iPhone and the iPad. The best part for me is the fact that you can listen to your personal music collection at home or on the go, either on the web or on your android app even when you...
Guest post by Jaelithe. Technology can be transformative, limitless, and sometimes, incredibly overwhelming. There are a million ways to accomplish one task and a million tasks to accomplish. 1. Manage To-Do Lists on Your Mobile Device AND your Desktop

evernote

If you’ve ever forgotten your shopping list or lost your PayPal password, you’ve seen how misplaced information can steal the time right off your watch. Keeping track of passwords, lists, and schedules is a full-time pain in the PalmPilot, but if you connect all your information you'll save a ton of time. There are many apps that wirelessly sync your phone to your home or office computer. For example, Evernote (a free app available on the iPhone) can be downloaded to all the computers you use for constant access. Try organizing your list in category folders. Keep passwords, grocery lists, pictures, and daily duties all in one program and organize them by tagging lists and creating...
