Cyanogenmod

I am quite sure that if you are an android owner, once in a while you might have encountered some terms which would have made you utterly confused. Things like rooting, ROM etc. may just sound to you like a waste of time, but to be honest they are the biggest strength of this platform. In past we have written a few posts about cyanogenmod and custom roms but didn't give a full overview on what they exactly are. So here I am trying to answer a few questions that were raised. Let me start with the basics.

What is Android?

In a layman's term, Android is operating system that runs on primarily on mobile platform (Cellphone/tablets). It certainly is not the hardware that you get when you purchase a phone.

Architecture of Android

Before I go in depth about ROM and Super User, let me tell you a little about the architecture of android. For any computational device to work there needs to be certain element which interacts with the hardware. Hardware alone can't do a thing unless it is directed to. This direction/interaction with the hardware is done through the innermost layer...
Advertising is the main source of revenue generation for any organization, especially companies based on the web. As per the latest announcement from the social media giant, Twitter ads are going to appear in a new flavor. Twitter is seriously pursuing pumping ads right into the user’s timeline. As per the earlier practice, users used to get advertisements only from those brands they are following. The new approach is quite different from earlier option based twitter advertisements. As per the official information from Twitter, less than 10 per cent of active Twitter users are being experimented with this new flavor. The companies which are participating in this new model of advertisement include Disney, Pepsi and Xbox.

Twitter Ads

After getting the feedback and finding the impact, Twitter may engage more and more business groups to participate in this new model of ad pumping system. Obviously, the ad flavor will be extended to more and more Twitter users spread across the globe. As per the earlier practice, Twitter used to send tweets based on the users’ interests. The new approach will pump advertisement into user’s timeline regardless of their interest in receiving those promotional messages. From the...
These days, it seems that the big buzz is all around Apple, Samsung, HTC; with Nokia looking like a roaring, but defeated lion. Samsung is said to battle against iPhone 4S with yet another range of top-end smartphones like Nexus Prime. HTC has already built its name in the market with a specific design and they release smartphones on a regular basis. Motorola has gotten already into Google's hands and we are very curious to see Google's first "branded" steps into the mobile hardware war. But Sony Ericsson? Where the hell are you hiding?

iPhone - The Reason For Sony Ericsson's Failure in Smartphones?

The iPhone 4S has been officially announced and we were actually expecting to see an iPhone 5 totally changed that could make us praise Apple and for a period, close the rumor mill on the Apple vs Android topic. But that didn't happen and this means that competition can start from where iPhone 4S left; Samsung, HTC, RIM, Sony Ericsson and even Nokia can try and attack iPhone 4S. Will Sony Ericsson benefit from this occasion or they will let it slip away?...

iphone4s Some of us are disappointed, others have started to look in their bank accounts, crash their piggy banks to search for the dough to buy the iPhone 4S with its wonderful voice assistant friend, Siri. We were hoping, though, that Apple will break its "S" line and upgrade directly from the fourth version to the much acclaimed iPhone 5. And we had enough reasons to think so, since Apple didn't release it in June, where all previous models has been launched. But, now we understand why they didn't let iPhone 4S hit the shelves, they were working on its innards.

iOS 5, iCloud - The Reasons For The Delayed Launch?

Before explaining iPhone 4S' detailed functions and other details regarding its launch, we must talk about iOS 5 and iCloud, the improved operating system and the cloud feature offered to iUsers. It seems that iCloud and iOS 5 are the main reasons for the iPhone 4S delayed launch. It makes sense when you think about it. The iCloud was announced at the WWDC in this June, but, obviously, Apple still had a lot of work to do with its servers. Changing...
