sony-tablet-s-review-1 Blink an eye and you will see a new android device being released in the market. Be it the smartphones or the tablets, every manufacturer, big or small, is out to try his luck. Sadly, most of the android devices (specially the tablets) all look similar. Hardly anyone has bothered to experiment with the design and differentiating from competition. This is where Sony's first ever Android tablet strikes gold. Sony Tablet S comes with a wedge shape design which is unconventional, and yet ergonomic. But then Sony is late into the party. Will that affect in any way? Or their first offering has enough meat to discount the delay? We shall find that out today.

Design

As I mentioned before, Sony Tablet S comes with a wedge shape design which resembles a folded magazine. This is unconventional but not revolutionary. Small time players like Notion Ink have tried this design before without much success. Personally, I loved the design. It definitely feels a lot easier to hold this 9.4" tablet in one hand as compared to conventional tablets of similar size. The idea behind...
DSLR, Point-and-Shoot, Megapixels, Optical Zoom, Digital Zoom, they all might sound gibberish for many of you. In this tutorial, I’ll show you all the different options you have in buying a digital camera and how not to get confused when your local dealer starts throwing numbers and features at you. Before starting our newest buying tutorial, you might want to take a look at our previous ones:

Digital Camera Buying Guide

First of all, you have to know the basic terms in the world of photography. Many of you are quite aware with most of them, but this can be quite helpful for the newbies. So, let’s recap:

1. DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex)

This is a type of digital camera that usually has detachable lenses and a reflex mirror that allows live optical zoom through the lens taking the photo. Usually, DSLRs have better image quality that normal Point-and-Shoot cameras and allow you to manually adjust the picture you’re about to take.

2. Point-And-Shoot

As...
Over the last few years, we’ve seen camcorders evolve along side TV’s. As HDTVs hit the market, pretty soon, we saw the HD camcorders. Now, as 3D HDTVs start showing up, so do 3D HD camcorders. People are no longer interested only in seeing 3D movies, but they are also curious to film and shoot in 3D, albeit, at this moment, this is rather an expensive caprice.

How Does 3D Camera Work?

Think of the human eyes, we see the world in 3 dimension (height, length and depth), but the lens on a camera can only see 2 dimensions (height and length), the depth cannot be seen with 1 lens (or one eye for that matter). This happens because we see 2 images (one with the right eye and another one, slightly different with the left eye, then our brain merges the 2 images to create a 3 dimensional image), and the same is true with camcorders and digital cameras. They need 2 pairs of lenses to “see” a 3D image, one takes an image slightly to the right, the other, to the left and then, the camera or camcorder “brain” assembles the 2 images into...
Every overclocker and gamer knows that a solid CPU cooler can make a real difference in benchmarks and in games, so for that extra edge, you need a good aftermarket CPU cooler. There are lots of good coolers, fancy coolers, but what makes a CPU cooler good? It’s simple, a CPU cooler needs to transfer lots of heat from your CPU to the outside of your case and keep your CPU as cool as possible. There are 3 main types of CPU coolers:
  • air coolers
  • fan-less coolers (also known as heatsinks)
  • water coolers
So, I tried to make a list of the best known air coolers in the market. Based upon performance mostly, but also upon noise and other aspects. So here they are:

1. Noctua NH-D14/SE2011

In my opinion, the Noctua NH-D14 and the SE 2011 (for the new LGA 2011 from Intel) are the best air coolers right now. It combines exquisite craftsmanship with the very best materials, copper heatsink and 6 heatpipes with aluminum cooling fins and 2 Noctua fans with 1300 RPM. It provides excellent heat dissipation and can handle any CPU and overclock you can throw at it. I’ve included...
Tired of all those newspaper subscriptions? Or ever found yourself in front of a cinema and didn’t know anything about the movie that’s playing? Now, if you have an Android or an iPhone with you, you can check it out in a flash (no pun intended). Movie apps are the best way to find out what ever you need about any movie, or what’s hot in the box office. It's pretty hard to find specific movie apps for Android only or for iPhone only. It's obvious that IMDB and Flixster will not ignore the potential of both platforms, so you will find that the majority of these apps are actually mobile cross-platforms. Here are some awesome apps you can try out:

Top 7 Movie Apps for Android

1. Movies (by Flixster)

This is one of the best movie app out there, in my opinion. If you give it a try, you’ll get the latest reviews from Rotten Tomatoes, a map that shows what movies are played near you, ratings, trailers and everything you need to know about any movie. It works great and its bundle of feature is enough to satisfy...
I start this post by quoting Mahatma Gandhi.
Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life.
Be it freedom against oppression or the freedom to express oneself, it's the very fundamentals on which our nation or rather any democracy is based on. It should be the very foundation on which the leaders/politicians should rule the country. The reason why I am quoting Mahatma today, is because I see a future in which the very right of freedom of expression will be jeopardized, the very backbone of Internet. Yes, I am referring to the much talked about Stop Online Piracy Act also commonly known as SOPA.

What is SOPA?

Here is how Wikipedia defines it.
The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), also known as H.R. 3261, is a bill that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on October 26, 2011, by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) and a bipartisan group of 12 initial co-sponsors. The bill expands the ability of U.S. law enforcement and copyright holders to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.
sopa Going by the definition, you might feel, what's wrong. It's an excellent initiative,...
Primarily manufactured for GPS navigation, these GPS enabled smartphones are available in plenty in the market these days. You can find your location and navigate to the place you wished using this device. However when some software (apps) are installed, they can be used as a tracking device too. The "'we know where you are' technology" is not that something that happens only in Mission Impossible movies. The smart phones that we use, can also be used as a tracker device. Let's take a look at how it is done and what are the problems associated with it. GPS smartphone Tracking Device credit: Getty Images Some of the tracking apps that are economical & reliable are listed here - • Google Latitude - Available on Android, BlackBerry, Apple and many other phones, this app can be used in two ways by you. It can be used as a separate tracking device or as an opt-in feature that is a part of Google Maps. After downloading the app, you can invite people whom you want to locate. However, the disadvantage is that the other end party can also locate you. So, you have to be careful while using this, else they...
