Amazon shat on their US affiliates when they couldn't be bothered to do the taxes as many aff programs did and keep some states residents in their program. Hope they don't pull that on folks out of India after they accept them building a market for them as they did in the US. Amazon still is a remarkable company with some decent opportunities though.

one thing junglee has done that, it has stirred up the domain of "price comparison" sites in india. One site that Raju misses upon is cheapestinindia.com, this site not only compares products but is like a search engine, unlike babaji which pops up a price tag applicable in mumbai only and Mysmartprice comapres only books and electronics. Though whats selling like hot cupcakes in india is fashion, shoes and cosmetics online. where is product comparison in that field????

What a joke! I got excited about Junglee and immediately that wore off when I saw their system of selling products. They are WAY behind Flipkart (and ONLY Flipkart, no one else in India is the top right now).

On Flipkart you get all the cost involved on the page of the products without having to add it to your cart and you can buy it DIRECTLY from them. On Junglee the customer has to go through the hassle of visiting 3rd party sites and risk trusting their service. Even for the Kindle you have to visit 'Amazon.com'.

TOTAL FAIL if this continues for Junglee.

Thanks Raju. This is I believe the first mention of Pricebaba in public. We are in early beta and would love your continued feedback in months to come. For now, you raised a very interesting question and we though we would answer this.

While baba has a detailed post here: http://blog.pricebaba.com/oh-junglee

the perspective we take is: we intend to be a trustable source for pricing insights and not a catalog promoting retailers who pay us. Shoppers heading to Junglee would also like to cross check on pricebaba before making a purchase :)
