Previous week, we reported about the launch of the first Firefox OS smartphone in India – the Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1. And, at the time it seemed that the price of 2, 299 was too good to be true. But now Intex announces the Cloud Fx, a Firefox OS-based smartphones which can be yours for just 1999 INR, which is the equivalent of $33. The smartphone is now available via exclusive retail partner Snapdeal.
It seems that the cheapest Android smartphone available right on Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India is a little over Rs. 2,000, which means that the Intex Cloud FX could indeed be India’s cheapest smartphone. This is a dual-SIM handset, which features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480 pixel) display, runs on a 1GHz processor along with 128MB of RAM. It also has a 2-megapixel rear camera, and no front-facing camera.

The Intex Cloud FX comes with only46MB of built-in storage, bu theres support for microSD cards up to 4GB. Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, Bluetooth, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Cloud FX weighs 104 grams, and has dimensions of 115.9×62.11.8mm. It comes with a 1250mAh battery, which is said deliver up to 4 hours of talk time and a standby time of 200 hours.

The Firefox OS phone has a duilt-in Usage monitor that allow users to monitor and control their data usage. Also, as a special offer, Aircel subscribers can now avail 1GB data free per month for 3 months by simply SMSing ‘INTEX’ to 121. The Cloud FX will be available only in Black and White and it also comes with support for several languages like English, Hindi and Tamil.
