HTC has announced the variant of its flagship smartphone, dubbed the HTC One M8 Eye in India for Rs.38,990 (~$640). The One M8 Eye comes with a 13 MegaPixel rear camera instead of the ultrapixel camera on the original One M8. The phone was quietly launched in China last week, and has now made into Indian shores.

As you’d expect, the HTC One M8 Eye looks identical to its elder sibling, and comes with a 5-inch, 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 801 processor, and 2GB of RAM. Android 4.4 KitKat is installed, and HTC’s Boomsound speaker system is fitted to the front. It continues to carry the Duo camera and 5 Megapixel front facing camera like the One M8.

On the software side, the new Eye Experience package will be installed, including the Face Fusion app, the four-face recognition video call system, and Split Capture too. This is similar to what we had seen with the HTC Desire Eye which was announced last week.

Like the original One M8, the One M8 Eye will carry full metal body, and comes with 2600 mAh battery. The M8 Eye will be available in Gunmetal Gray and Glacial Silver colors and will go on sale across India starting tomorrow with the price tag of Rs.38,990.
