Don’t be scared, I’m just merely informing you that our sister list covering the best new iPhone and iPad apps is back on track and you definitely shouldn’t miss it. Also, if you’re on Android, make sure you haven’t overlooked the list from our previous week, where we have plenty of novelties. But let’s turn our attention to this week, ladies and gentleman.
Nokia Here Maps (Free)
Nokia has release the Nokia Here Maps app initially only for Samsung devices but now it is available for almost all Android handsets. However, this is the beta version of the app and it hasn’t yet made its way on the Play Store. Among the main features of the app we find – offline navigation, ,aps to download and to use offline for nearly 100 countries, public transport maps and directions for over 800 cities in over 40 countries, ;ive traffic info for more than 40 countries and many other features.
Google Inbox (Free)
Google’s Gmail team has managed to surprise us last week when it announced a new service that was aimed to improve how we use our emails. It is called simply ‘Inbox‘ and comes with some really nice features such as: bundles, where similar messages are bundled together; highlights to get the most important information without even opening the message; reminders in the Google Now style; the ability to snooze emails and much, much more. Built by the Gmail team, it’s now wonder why Inbox is already a huge hit.
Autodesk SketchBook (Free)
Autodesk is bringing its SketchBook app for Android users, described as a professional-grade painting and drawing engine that uses the same paint engine as its desktop counterpart. The app allows you to customize brushes by adjusting brush radius, opacity, rotation, and more. You can get up to a 2500% zoom, there are over 10 preset brushes, including pencils, pens, and markers to choose from. Other features include synthetic pressure sensitivity, the option to easily organize your sketches in SketchBook’s gallery and even the option to save and store your works of art on your Dropbox account.
Anki Drive (Free)
Finally, the popular racing AnkiDrive mini-cars have released their official app for Android users, as well. Currently available for Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4/5, Note 3/4/10.1 (2014 Edition), the app allows users to control the toy cars and have a lot of fun. You should know that up to four Anki Drive cars can race per game in Battle Mode and Race Mode. In Battle Mode the first car to score a set number of takeouts wins and in Race Mode it’s the traditional racing system. So, are you ready for some fun?
