Lenovo is one company you usually associate with classy designs and innovative form factors. From Thinkpads to Ideapads to Yoga series to Vibe series, Lenovo has always shown that they ‘think different’ (no pun intended). Unfortunately their new offering will probably go down as a black mark to their reputation. The Lenovo S90 “Sisley” which went official in China today is a blatant rip-off of Apple’s iPhone 6. Take a look.
Yes, that’s the new Lenovo S90 Sisley smartphone. If you think that promotional image looks very familiar, that’s probably because of this –
That’s how dangerously close the whole thing is. Both the device and presentation are ‘inspired’. It’s not just one angle where it looks similar to the iPhone 6. Check out more images which are apparently taken from the S90’s product page in the slideshow below.
Lenovo Sisley S90 comes with a 5″ Super AMOLED display of HD resolution, and is powered by Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16GB and the phone also features dual-SIM connectivity and NFC. There’s also a 2300mAh battery inside. The main camera has a 13MP sensor and thankfully doesn’t protrude like it does on the iPhone 6. The front facing camera is a whopping 8MP shooter and the Sisley S90 will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The phone is launching in China with a price of $327 (RMB 1,999) and will be offered in pink, gold, silver and grey. It’s really shocking to see Lenovo, of all the companies, do something like this. Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
