The already crowded Indian mobile market is about to witness the launch of a very special product. Believed to be world’s slimmest phone, a title that has been constantly passed along, the 4.75mm-thin Vivo X5Max is set for a release on December 15 in India, according to a recent press release. Thus, the device takes on other super slim phones like the Gionee Elife S5.1, which has a thickness of 5.1 mm.
A few days ago, the Vivo X5Max has been certified in China and that’s how we got an early look at its possible specs. And if you think the company is going to bank just on the incredibly thin frame, it seems it’s not the case this time. As you can see, there’s no compromise being made on the rumored specs:
- Android 4.4
- 5.5 inch Full HD display
- 1.7Ghz octa core Mediatek processor paired with 2GB of RAM
- 16GB of storage built in alongside micro SD expansion up to 128GB
- 13MP rear facing sensor and a 5MP front facing camera
- 4G TD-LTE support TD-SCDMA connectivity and dual SIM cards
Also, it seems that the smartphone could be as slim as 3.75mm without the camera bulge, which is incredibly thin. The company has managed to accomplish this by shifting 90% of the internals components to the sides of the screen. But we’re just one week away from the launch event, and that’s when we’ll have more details to share about this new promising smartphone.
