Micromax has announced the launch of the newest Canvas Hue Android smartphone in India which continues the foray into the low-end segment of the market. Micromax says the new device is ‘designed for the astute new age consumer‘, featuring a 5-inch AMOLED HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.


The smartphone gets launched at a price of 10,999 Rs, which puts it in direct competition with Lenovo’s newest 4G smartphone, with the Micromax Yu Yureka, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and others. Let’s have a look at the main tech specs and features of the handset:

The smartphone will come with pre-loaded apps like M!live, Swiftkey, Amazon, Hike, Dr. Safety, Opera, MAd, Truecaller, Saavn, Clean Master as well as other trending apps and a bunch of pre-loaded games.

Micromax also informs that the new Canvas Hue smartphone comes with a super power saving mode promising ‘continuous connectivity on the marathon battery‘. Actually, the company says that this software trick brings one month of battery backup, but it does mention that Talk and Standby times are affected by network preferences, type of SIM cards, connected accessories and the individual using it, of course.

Available in white and gold color, the smartphone goes on sale in online and offline stores starting 16th January 2015 at the before-mentioned price of 10, 999 rupees. Micromax has also recently launched the Canvas Selfie smartphone which packs a 13MP front camera.
