There are many devices and systems out there to transform your house into a smart one, but this doesn’t necessarily cheapen the costs. Luckily, in this vast world of ideas, somebody has thought of a device which could help you achieve both these functions. Neurio brings more intelligence inside your home but also helps you reduce electricity costs.
The Neurio system is consisted from 4 parts – a WiFi-enabled power monitor sensor installed in your breaker panel, a cloud service to host and process the data, a energy saving app and a trigger which allows makers and hackers to set up special actions. However, Neurio plans to include support for such services like SmartThings and IFTTT, allowing consumers to integrate Neurio with other connected devices.
Neurio uses a WiFi power sensor and a cloud service with some smart pattern detection algorithms to monitor your home’s electricity. It can understand the behavior of your appliances without requiring separate sensors on every device. Through its app, it will inform how much power you’re using and will also show potential problems and usage patterns. Even more, it can let you know when you forget to turn something off.
But this is not all that it can do. The team behind the gadget says that a future software update will be able to turn old appliances into connected devices. Neurio is now available for preorder now, and costs $249; shipping will take place this spring.
