Lenoo has a nice presence at this year’s MWC and it has already managed to impress us with the new Vibe Shot camera-centric smartphone. And it seems that they thought it would be great to have a pico projector, as well, to go along with that great new handset. If you remember, Lenovo’s Yoga Tablet 2 Pro also has a built-in pico projector, so now they are now announcing the Lenovo Pocket Projector as a smartphone accessory.
The Lenovo Pocket Projector beams movies, photos or business presentations up to 110-inch on any wall or surface in low-light conditions. It comes with a 50-lumen high contrast optical engine which delivers colorful, vivid and bright images. It also automatically corrects for distortion and allows users to rotate up to 90 degrees. What’s really nice about it is that it comes with dual speakers which will deliver enough sound to watch movies on the walls inside your home.
The Lenovo Pocket Projector can project content from a smartphone wirelessly via DLNA or Miracast and it is compatible with Miracast-enabled Android devices v4.3 and above and DLNA-enabled Android, Windows 8.1 and iOS. It can last for more than two hours of battery life being unplugged. It comes with up to 32 GB of microSD storage and supports most multimedia files.
The native resolution is 854×480, and it has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. It has a power of 50 lumen, so that should be powerful enough to see a movie during the night. The device is weighing about 170g, so you can really take it anywhere you go. It can appeal to home users but also to workers in the business field who want to showcase a presentation. The Lenovo Pocket Projector will be available worldwide starting in May with pricing starting at $249.
