Opera has been one of my favorite browsers for a long while, and now I’ve started using it even more after WhatsApp Web has landed on Opera and Firefox, as well. And now, there’s one more reason for you to try it out, too – the bookmark syncing feature. It has been available for Firefox and Chrome users for quite a while, but now it comes to the Norwegian-based company, as well.
Opera 28 lets you sync bookmarks across computers, phones and tablets, being available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS, too. In order to benefit from the new feature, you need to make sure that you sign in with your Opera account on every device where you use it. To use this option, click the sync icon or select Settings from the main menu; then, create an Opera account or sign into your existing one. Download the latest version to make sure you get it right.
Opera also promises that other data will be added to the sync platform over time, but we don’t know exactly when. Besides this new feature, Opera 28 also incorporats bookmarks into the search suggestions in the combined search and address bar. It also brings a better integration with Mac OS and updates the bundled themes selection.
