Fitbit, a company known for wearable activity trackers of the same name is all set to enter the Indian market. The company will begin selling a range of trackers through e-commerce portal Amazon India from July 1.

The company will be selling the Zip, the Flex, the Charge HR, and the Surge in India, it told Indian Express. The wearable devices will cost between Rs 4,000 to Rs 19,990 and will be available to purchase on Amazon India. The company plans to partner offline channels to sell its trackers from brick and mortar retailers later this year.

For a refresh, announced in late 2012, the Fitbit Zip is a $59.95 tracker that notifies about the calories its wearer has burned, and also the number of steps taken and distance travelled. It syncs data wirelessly to supported iOS and Android devices.

The Fitbit Flex, which was launched in the US in May 2013, also tracks movements, as well as sleep patterns. It has a simple display consisting of 5 LED lights which indicate the number of steps the wearer has taken, and it vibrates when the personal goal has been achieved. The Flex is the most water resistance among all. It is available in the US for $99.95.

The Fitbit Charge HR, which is available in the US at the price point of $149.95, offers all the features of the Flex while adding several more handy features such as continuous heart rate monitor, and the ability to display caller ID information from a connected smartphone. It will be available in India at the price point of Rs 12,990.

The Fitbit Surge is the newest product among all four. Its touch capacitive display and GPS support puts it into the smartwatch category. Priced in the US at $249.95, the Surge gleans notifications from supported devices, and lets you control music while also offering all the features of the Charge HR.

Why should you care? Fitbit is a mammoth company in the wearable segment. The company, which was founded in 2007, has sold more than 3.3 million devices as of March 31, 2015. The company is valued at $8 billion.

Update 17:40, June 24: Fitbit trackers are now available to pre-order. The listing on Amazon India reveals the pricing information of all the trackers Fitbit is launching in India. The Fitbit Surge is priced at Rs 19,990, the Charge at Rs 9,990, the Charge HR at Rs 12,990, the One at Rs 6,990, the Zip at Rs 3,990, the Flex at Rs 6,990, and the Aria at Rs 9,990.
