San Francisco-based Turing Robotic Industries has built a very strong smartphone that could very well be considered the Superman of phones. The device has the eponymous Turing name and is said to be unhackable and built from a special metal that is even stronger than titanium and steel, which allegedly is making it unbreakable.

The Turing Phone comes with an end-to-end encryption technology that is built into most of the core apps on the phone, thus making it a very secure device. Furthermore, it comes with a fingerprint reader on its side. The wonder material that it is made from is called liquidmorphium and it is said to be stronger than steel or aluminium.  turing phone strong

The smartphone is waterproof, as well, but not just on the outside, as it comes with a special nano-coating applied to its innards, as well. What’s curious is that there’s no rubber used in its constructions, so whenever you immerse it water, it will get in.

The device comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixel)  display and has no USB port and no headphone jack. Turing runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Turing Aemaeth UI.  Powering the device is a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB of RAM. It comes in 3 storage options – 16, 32 and 64GB, features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

On the connectivity front, it features 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE; NFC; GPS/ Glonass; and a non-removable 3000mAh battery. Its sensors include fingerprint, accelerometer, gryoscope, magnetometer, proximity, ambient light, temperature, and humidity. The smartphone comes in three color options – Pharaoh, Cardinal, and Beowulf. Despite its Superman claims, the phone’s price will start at $610 for the 16 GB model and it will be available for pre-order starting July 31.

Update – you can now reserve the device on this official page. The smartphone comes in the following versions – beowulf, pharaoh and cardinal. The 16GB version retails for $610, the 64GB one for $740 and the 128GB one for $870; and as we can see, the 32GB one is missing. After signing up for buying the device, you will receive an email and you will be able to make the payment once the final shipment date is confirmed.
