Asus seems relentless in flooding the Indian smartphone market with variations of ZenFone 2 models. Few months after releasing 4 different models of ZenFone 2, Asus is back with 4 more variants, albeit with better nomenclatures – ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe and ZenFone Max. All these phones were announced at a gala event in New Delhi, India.


Asus ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)

As name suggests, the Asus ZenFone Selfie is company’s selfie-focus smartphone which comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top of it. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). The highlight of the phone is its 13-megapixel front and rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash. The rear camera is accompanied with laser auto focus for capturing images faster and better even in low-lighting conditions.

Other specifications include Dual SIM with 4G LTE support and 3000mAh battery. There are two sub-variants of ZenFone Selfie – one coming with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the other one has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both of them supper microSD card up to 64GB.

The Asus Zenfone Selfie comes in Pure White, Aqua Blue and Chick Pink colors and is priced at Rs.15,999.

Asus ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE550KL/ZE601KL)


The ZenFone 2 Laser is the cheapest of the 4 phones launched today. But then it comes with 3 variants to confuse you further. All 3 of them have 13 MP rear camera with real-tone flash, laser auto focus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Two of these phones have a 5.5-inch HD (720p) display. One of the ZenFone 2 Laser variants is powered by the Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Another variant has Snapdragon 615 SoC with 3GB RAM. And the last one has a 6-inch screen with 3GB RAM.

All 3 phones run onAndroid 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top of it. The displays come with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. All of them have Dual SIM with 4G LTE support. The 5.5-inch models have 3000mAh battery while we aren’t sure about the battery on the 6-inch model. The phones come in Pure Black, Ceramic White and Glamor Red colors.

The 5.5-inch ZenFone 2 Laser with 2GB RAM/SD 410 is priced at Rs.9,999, while the one with 3GB RAM/SD 615 is priced at Rs.13,999. The 6-inch ZenFone 2 Laser is priced at Rs.17,999

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)


The ZenFone 2 Deluxe is the high-end smartphone whose USP is the back cover made of premium polygonal material. It also comes with the 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 13MP rear camera with Real Tone flash, 5MP front-facing camera and Android 5.0 with ZenUI.

Much like the original ZenFone 2, it also has 4GB RAM, 64/128GB internal memory, Dual SIM 4G LTE support and 3000mAh battery. The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is priced at Rs.22,999 for the 64GB variant and will be available in Illusion White, Illusion Blue and Illusion Red colors
