A few days back, Chinese company Meizu announced that it’s creating a new PRO sub-brand for its devices. The first handset from this new line of products is going to be the Meizu MX5 Pro and recently a couple of leaks have been making the rounds.
A couple of leaked press render are showcasing the upcoming Meizu MX5 Pro in a dark gray color scheme and what seems to be a metallic body. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but those rounded corners seem very similar to the design language of Apple’s iPhone 6.
Another leaked image has revealed that the smartphone will get the newest Flyme 5.0 OS on board, which will run on top of Android Lollipop. However, this is a bit controversial, as some other leaked images were showing the device running stock Android.
As for the rumored specs of the Meizu MX5 Pro, the device is said to feature Exynos 7420 or Helio X20 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 21MP camera, and a 1080p display that’s 5.5” or 5.7”. All these features already give a pretty clear image that this is going to be a flagship device.
But when it comes to pricing, it could have an advantage over rivals, as it’s being rumored that it will be available at a sub-$500 price tag. China is going to be the first market to get the device, but it could become available to international buyers via third-party online retailers.
Update: Meizu PRO 5 is now official
