The final and public version of Windows 10 Mobile is just around the corner and many are looking forward for Microsoft to release its flagship smartphone. While Redmond isn’t still excelling in the chapter ‘premium phone’, it does manage to produce affordable and decent devices.
A future entry-level Windows 10 handset, if not the first, is said to be the Lumia 550. A couple of images have leaked showing the device in black, blue, red and white colors. We also have details regarding its specs and features, as follows:
- 4.7-inch 720p screen with a 720×1080 pixels resolution
- 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 210 processor, LTE
- 8GB of expandable storage
- 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front
Previous reports were suggesting that the Lumia 550 will be getting a 5-inch touchscreen, 5 MP main camera, a 2 MP front cam, 1GB of RAM, and a 1,905 mAh battery.
The most recent leak suggests that this device will be the first entry-level phone to run Windows 10. As for its build quality, Microsoft is going to maintain the previous design, opting for a glossy polycarbonate with a metal outer edge.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 is allegedly expected to cost around $120 at launch, which is an aggressive pricing, but even at this range there are plenty of competitors out there.
Microsoft has a big event scheduled for October 6th, and that’s when they are expected to announce the high-end Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL pair, among other new devices, so chances are that the Lumia 550 will be unveiled, as well.
