Before the OnePlus 2 was unveiled, there have been various rumors which were suggesting that OnePlus would actually launch two new smartphones – a main one and one that would be focused on design features.
That wasn’t the case and we only saw the OnePlus 2 being unveiled, alone and with a higher price than the first generation. Recently, it has been speculated that OnePlus is already working on a second handset meant to reach the market before 2015, and now we have fresh proof towards that.
The above image shows the results of an AnTuTu benchmark run allegedly performed on a OnePlus phone codenamed as ‘ A2301’. The test has revealed some quite decent specs, which are slightly below what the OnePlus 2 has to offer. And this is one of the reasons why we can speculate that the device in question is actually the OnePlus Mini. Here are the specs that it could sport:
- 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution
- Octa-core MediaTek MT6795T processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with a PowerVR Rogue G6200 series GPU
- 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage
- 13-megapixel main camera
- Android: 5.1.1 Lollipop
The device has obtained a score of 54,311, which places it ahead of such devices as the Meizu MX4, Galaxy Note 4, Asus ZenFone 2 and others. Of course, this report needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, since anybody with enough knowledge could trick the app into reporting some desired results. But then again, who would benefit from this if it’s all just lies?
It’s really interesting to observe how this will develop. There have been voices among customers complaining about the increase in price, so maybe OnePlus is planning a cheaper version in order to make sure they capture the attention of budget-conscious buyers? We’ll just have to wait and see, but in the time, let us know what do you think of this rumor by leaving your input.
