Huawei has launched its new flagship the Honor 7 for the Indian market priced at Rs 22,999. The Honor series has been elemental for the online presence of Huawei brand and considering the fact that Honor 6 and the 6 Plus were a great package, the Honor 7 has an image to match up to.
The Huawei Honor 7 is fitted with a 5.2-inch FHD display and it runs on the HiSilicon Kirin 935 SoC which boasts of its big little architecture. The Chipset is made up of a quad-core Cortex A53 clocked at 2.2GHz and a 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core which is clocked slightly lower at 1.5GHz. On the storage front the phone comes with a 3GB of RAM and a 16GB/64GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via the MicroSD card.
Camera department is managed by a 20-Megapixel primary sensor along with a 8-Megapixel secondary camera. The Honor 7 boasts of features like wide angled selfies, light painting, time lapse and a slew of other filters to help you enhance the pictures. Furthermore the camera units are accompanied with Phase Detection Auto Focus, which will help in achieving more accurate focusing and object tracking.
Huawei has included a multi function fingerprint scanner at the back and the scanner unit seems to be reminiscent of the Nexus 6P, which is also manufactured by Huawei. The multi function part of the fingerprint scanner will also allow you to scroll through the images and click them, similar to the trackpads.
Honor 7 does come with some interesting features and the inbuilt powerbank (reverse charging) is definitely one of them. With Honor 7 you can charge any other phones and the IR blaster in the device will also let you control other smartphones. The Honor 7 is backed up by a 3100mAh battery pack and it does come with the ultra power saving mode which helps you boost up the battery life by 30%. Voice recognition feature on the Honor 7 will let users wake up the phones with the voice prompt, plus the same voice command can be used for many other things as well, including locating your phone with a simple voice command. Huawei has tried to make taking screenshots easier with the Knuckle shot, which will capture a screenshot by tapping with your knuckles on he screen.
Huawei has bolstered the Honor 7 with offers, deals and a 15-month warranty program which also includes a free one time display replacement. The Honor 7 will run on Android 5 Lollipop wrapped in EMUI 3.1 overlay. I have been using the EMUI for quite some time and couldn’t help noticing how nifty and productive the UI has become, and feel it is much more stable and better than the MIUI in most of the real life use cases. Another mention worthy feature that I would always end up using when my battery level came to the brink of existence is the Ultra power saving mode, which literally gives you 6-8 hours of battery life on just 15% of juice.
The Huawei Honor 7 will be made available in Mystery Grey and Fantasy Silver Color, it will start retailing on Flipkart from October 15 onwards.
